With most of the construction done it was time to start prettying up the place and the first step was to give the timber a stain and varnish to make it look like a more expensive species than what it actually is. It’s a great alternative to spending a fortune on timber although no-one believes it’s actual mahogany. But then again, no-one actually cares. It looks great and that’s all that matters
Thankfully my brother is a painter and in exchange for a promise of free booze he agreed to help me and tackle the WHOLE staining process. I mean who doesn’t love free booze? It’s a great currency here in Australia and plenty of work is done and paid for in glorious boozy goodness.
